Doris Ann Hildebrand, 86, passed into the arms of her Heavenly Father at the Douglas Care Center in Douglas, Wyoming on Saturday, June 30, 2018. She was born on Sunday, August 23, 1931 to Henry John Hildebrand and Verbal Thora (Dull) Hildebrand in Douglas, Wyoming. She attended country schools near her parents’ ranch.
On November 23, 1949, she married Henry R. Martinez. They were blessed with four children: Ernie, Vicky, Eric and Lou. The next sixteen years found the couple and growing family frequently moving to follow Henry’s line of work.
They divorced on December 9, 1965. Growing up, she was active at First Baptist Church in Douglas. Later in life, she was active at the Glenrock Community Baptist Church in Glenrock, Wyoming.
Doris was employed over the years as a housekeeper at DePaul Hospital in Cheyenne, Wyoming, and Nursing Homes in Cheyenne and Douglas. She enjoyed her retirement years with family and friends in Casper, Wyoming and Riverton, Wyoming. Doris was preceded in death by her father, Henry John on April 1, 1957; her mother, Verbal on March 13, 1976); her brother, Donald on September 3, 1972; grandson, Ernie-Lee on July 17, 2004; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She is survived by the father of her children, Henry; her children, Ernie (Minon) Martinez of Mason City, Iowa, Vicky (Jeff) Hildreth of Cheyenne, Eric (Sandy) Martinez of Riverton, and Lou (Sandy) Martinez of Johnson City, Tennessee; her grandchildren, Wendy Martinez, Derrick Martinez, Edmond Martinez, Jeffery Hildreth, Jennifer Hildreth (Charles Gavert), Joey (D.J.) Thebeau, David (Amanda) Martinez, Dustin Martinez, and Kyle Martinez; her great grandchildren, Desede Balles, Noah Oltman, Quinlan Hildreth, Isabella Gayvert, Alex Gayvert, Eric Woolever, Elijah Thebeau, Lilly-Lynn Martinez, Evalyn Martinez, Matthew Martinez; her brother, Carl (Kathy) Hildebrand of Casper; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins,and friends. A funeral service for Doris will be held at the Trinity Baptist Church in Douglas at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, July 7, 2018 with Pastor Tom Strock officiating. Burial will be in the Douglas Park Cemetery.
A dinner will immediately follow at the Trinity Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, and in the spirit of Doris’s generosity, she requested that donations be made to the Hair Salon at the Douglas Care Center, 1108 Birch Street, Douglas, Wyoming 82633 in order that her Medicaid friends have a means for salon services. Family and friends may call at the church on Saturday from 12:30 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. The Gorman Funeral Homes – Converse Chapel of Douglas, Wyoming is in charge of the arrangements.
