Doris Mary Jonila, 89, passed away peacefully on Sunday February 10, 2019 in Columbus, Ohio. Doris was born July 15, 1929 in Cleveland Ohio the youngest daughter of Mary Baron and Nick Fumich. She and her five siblings were first generation Americans of Croatian heritage.

She graduated from East High School in 1947, and married Albert Jonila in 1950. She is survived by their loving Daughter, Lynda Umbreit (David) of Fredericksburg, Texas. Doris enjoyed and took great pride in her meticulous work, and retired from Bowman Distribution after 25 years in inventory control.

She spent the last 24 years of her life in Columbus, residing at Friendship Village from 2002 until her passing. Doris is also survived by her sister-in-law Charlotte Fumich, and nieces and nephews in Ohio, North Carolina, Arizona and California. A memorial service and internment will take place in the spring at Calvary Cemetery in Cleveland.

Those wishing to honor Doris and her family may do so through Capital City Hospice or The Healthcare Center at Friendship Village of Columbus, the staff of both organizations cared for Doris with loving care.
