Doris Howard Spencer, 99, passed away on Tuesday, March 19, 2019 at Forest Manor Nursing home in Covington, Louisiana. Mrs. Spencer was born in Crystal Springs, Mississippi to Walter and Myrtie Howard. As an active member of First Baptist Church in Crystal Springs, she worked with the children’s ministry in many ways, including teaching Sunday School for over 23 years.

Visitation will be at First Baptist Church in Crystal Springs, Mississippi, on Thursday, March 21 from 1:30 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. with service to follow at 3:00 P.M. Stringer Family Funeral Services is in charge of the arrangements. Mrs. Spencer is survived by her son Ronnie Spencer (Rachel) of Covington, Louisiana and grandson Trent Spencer of Sevilla, Spain. Also surviving her is her brother Ray Howard (Charlene) of Crystal Springs, Mississippi.

She was predeceased by the love of her life, Ben Spencer. They were married from June, 1942 to his death in September, 1965. Also, predeceasing her are her brothers W.J. Howard, Lee Howard and sister Frances Jackson.
