Obituary for Mrs. DORLIS JAMES CHEEK WATKINS FORT WORTH — Dorlis James Cheek Watkins, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great- grandmother, passed away peacefully early Wednesday morning, August 22, 2018. She was 89. SERVICE: 11 a.m. Sunday in Bear Creek Cemetery, Euless.

Mrs. Watkins will lie in state from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at Robertson Mueller Harper. “MeMaw to All,” Dorlis was born November 17, 1928 in Queen City, the daughter of James Franklin and Irene Nicholson Cheek. She married JC Watkins on May, 7, 1947; Mr. Watkins preceded her in death on March 13, 2018.

Dorlis retired from Host Marriott at Dallas-Fort Worth Airport. In addition to her son, Jackie Wayne Watkins, Dorlis is survived by her granddaughters and their husbands, Brittany and Gregg Banks and Lori and Mike Hinton; great-grandchildren, Kenadie and Peightyn Banks and Rogan, Brylee and Grace Hinton; brothers, Johnny, George and Everett Cheek; sisters, Margaret, Donna and Beverly; and nieces and nephews and their families.
