Obituary for Dorothy Ann Cox Dorothy Ann Cox May 4, 1931 – August 29, 2018 Dorothy Ann Cox, 87, of Avoca, passed away unexpectedly and peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday, August 29, 2018. Dorothy had been a resident at Stonebridge for the last five months of her life after residing for 38 years in Avoca. Born May 4, 1931, in Heltonville, Indiana, she was the daughter of Clarence and Inez (Ross) Waggoner.

She was married for 61 years to Robert Simpson Cox who preceded her in death. She was blessed with and is survived by two sons, three grandchildren and her youngest sister; son, Dennis Ray Cox, wife Linda, grandson; Robert, granddaughters; Jennifer York, and Deidra White, son; Gregory Dean Cox, wife Susan, and sister; Sylvia Jean Baker. She was also preceded in death by her parents and older sister Vivian Stroud.

Visitation will be private to family from noon until 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at the Ferguson-Lee Chapel of Thorne-George Family Funeral Homes. Burial will follow at House of Prayer Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please make a donation in Dorothy’s name to; Becky’s Place, 1108 5th Street, Bedford, Indiana 47421.
