DOROTHY B. HAMELIN CLARK February 22, 1919 – May 12, 2019 Share this obituary View/Sign Guest Book| Send Sympathy Card| Memorial Donation Springfield – Dorothy Hamelin Clark passed away peacefully on Mother’s Day, May 12th. She was born February 22nd, 1919, in Springfield, MA, to Joseph and Mary (Fontaine) Provost. Family and friends recently celebrated 100 years of Dotty, an amazing woman who enjoyed her life to the fullest.

Dorothy graduated from Cathedral High School in Springfield and worked as a clerk for the New England Telephone Co. for 30 yrs, retiring in 1981. She lived most of her life in Springfield, moving to West Springfield in 1988. She was active in many organizations, including the Telephone Pioneers of America and the Brightwood Golden Agers, and she was a member of the choir and the parish council at St. Thomas Aquinas Church.

Dorothy was predeceased by her first husband, A. Normand Hamelin, and her second husband, Earl D. Clark, Jr. Also predeceasing her were Yvette Senez and Irene Phillips, cousins who were like sisters. Dorothy is survived by her 4 children: David Hamelin; Carol Hogan and her husband, Paul; Michelle Gosciminski and her husband, Stanley; and Daniel Hamelin and his wife, Corazon. She was “Gramma Dot” to her 8 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, in whom she delighted.

She also leaves her close friend of more than 80 years, Mary Boyer, and her special cousins, Ronald Bobala, Lillian Cooney, and Doris Labonte. Calling hours will be Thursday, May 16th, 4-7pm, at Corridan Funeral Home, 333 Springfield St, Chicopee MA. Funeral services for Dorothy will be Friday morning at 9:30a.m. at the funeral home, followed by a funeral mass to be held at 11am at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 46 Pine Street, West Springfield, MA.
