Dorothy’s Obituary Dorothy (Dottie) E. Minton, age 84, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 12, 2019 in Annapolis, MD. She was born February 11, 1935 in Knoxville, TN to Reverend Red Cecil Owens and Cora Lee (Shelton) Owens. Dottie grew up near her beloved Smokey Mountains and sang in her father’s Church as well as the Knoxville Christian radio station before beginning her life journey as a wife and mother.

She married Hubert Minton on October 5, 1954 where they had a beautiful, loving marriage of 53 years before his passing in 2008. They eventually moved to Maryland, continuing serving the Lord while working for Riverdale Baptist Church and School as a bus driver, cafeteria manager and in the infant/toddler daycare as well as singing in the Church choir. She retired while working for Nordstrom in Annapolis.

Dottie lived her life serving the Lord, sharing His message to all she came in contact with. Her laughter, smile, singing and her special way of making everyone feel wonderful and loved will be missed by so many. She was blessed to have so many beautiful friends and family in her life.

She is survived by her children, Robert (Pat), John (Jeannine), Theresa, Janice (Mike), Lorrie, Suzy (David), Sherry, Angel (Ron), brothers Johnny, George and Danny, and son-in-law Rahim, many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. Dottie was very proud to be matriarch of 5 generations of strong women. She is preceded by her husband Hubert, daughter Regina, granddaughter Suzanne, sister Ann and brothers RC and Albert.

Family, friends and others whose lives were touched by Dottie are invited to the Beall Funeral Home 6512 NW Crain Highway Bowie, MD 20715, February 16th from 4-5PM gathering with family and friends and from 5-6PM Service. The family would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Cadia Rehabilitation Center in Annapolis and Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis for the loving care of our mother during her time of need.
