Dorothy Lois (Arnold) Hunter, 85, Geneseo, IL, formerly of Rock Island, IL and Moline, IL, passed away Tuesday, March 5, 2019 with her family by her side. Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. followed by a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 11, 2019 at Grace United Methodist Church, Geneseo, IL.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf, IA. Vandemore Funeral Home and Crematory, Geneseo Chapel, is assisting with arrangements. Dorothy Dixon was born the daughter of Clarence and Clora Dixon on April 7, 1933 at the family farmhouse outside of Aledo, IL.

Dorothy graduated from Aledo High School and attended the American Institute of Commerce, Davenport, IA. She was employed by WOC-TV, Davenport, IA, The Rock Island Arsenal, and was last employed by Blackhawk College in the administrative offices. Dorothy married Norman K. Arnold of Moline on December 26, 1952.

Norman died May 13, 1991 in Moline, IL. On January 1, 2001, Dorothy married Colonel Frank B. Hunter in Oklahoma City, OK. He died September 9, 2009.

Dorothy loved her family, friends, books, music, and genealogy. She enjoyed traveling the world and spent winters in Arizona. She was a member of Grace Methodist Church, Geneseo, IL.

Dorothy is survived by daughters, Pat (Jon) Hankins, White House, TN, Deb (Mike) Zemo, Moline, IL; son, Bob (Cari) Arnold, Clermont, FL, and stepson Tracy (Mary) Stollberg, Glen Ellyn, IL. Her grandchildren are Brett Groene, White House, TN, Bridget (John) Stec, Goodlettsville, TN, Jessica (Wade) Murphy, Maricopa, AZ, Michael (Chrissy) Zemo, Davenport, IA, Sarah (Dan) Williams, Naperville, IL, and Lauren Arnold, Naperville, IL. Her great-grandchildren are Paige (Matt) Turppa, Hermitage, TN, Zoey and Lucas Zemo, Blake and Selah Williams, and Harrison and Lilah Stec.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Clora Dixon, sister, Maxine Heggie, and brother, Lane Dixon.
