Dorothy Thompson Gargis, 88, of Decatur, AL formally of Leighton passed away Thursday, June 28, 2018. Visitation will be Saturday, June 30, 2018 from 1-2 p.m. at Colbert Memorial Chapel with service to follow at 2 p.m. in the chapel. She was a member of Leighton Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Irous and Nolia Kyle; 1st husband, Arnold Lee Thompson; 2nd husband, Bruce Gargis; son, Michael Lynn Thompson; sister, Jessie Jo Thompson. She is survived by her daughters, Vickie Thompson Spangler of Decatur, AL and Kathy Thompson Richards (Mark L) of Daphene, AL; five grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; sister, Edna Thompson; several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Mark Richards, Matthew Richards, Brandon Lovett, Frank Spangler, Jr, and Stephen Greenleaf.
