Dorothy Mae Fowlkes-Bure was born January 6, 1950 to Bammie (Rutledge) and Willie Fowlkes in Fort Wayne, Indiana. She departed this life on Friday, November 9, 2018 at Parkview Hospital. She was employed by Fort Wayne Community Schools and East Allen County Schools.

“Dot” as she was affectionately called by family and friends was a loving mother and aunt. She was loved dearly by her family and friends and will be missed dearly. Dorothy leaves to cherish her memory her son, Carrington Bure; daughter, Nialynn Bure both of Fort Wayne; four grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Bammie Fowlkes; brother, Eddie Fowlkes.
