Obituary for Dorothy Mae Weston (McDonald) Print Dorothy Mae Weston 1925-2019 Dorothy Mae Weston, 93, of Skidmore, Missouri passed away on Friday, February 15, 2019 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri with her daughters by her side. Dorothy Mae was born on October 25, 1925 in Skidmore, Missouri to the late Jesse and Florence (Milner) McDonald. She was a 1943 graduate of Bellevue High School in Mound City, Missouri.

She was a member of the Skidmore United Methodist Church and the Morgan Sunshine Club of Graham. Dorothy Mae worked at Parkdale Manor and Nodaway Nursing Home prior to her receiving her LPN. In 1972 she received her LPN license from Northwest Missouri State University and then worked for St. Francis Hospital until her retirement.

She married Darwin V. Acklin on January 14, 1946 in Mound City, Missouri. He preceded her in death on May 1, 1974. She later married Kenneth M. Weston on August 20, 1983.

He preceded her in death on December 8, 1994. She was also preceded by her infant daughter, Verna Mae Acklin, step-son, David Lee Weston, two sisters, Ellouise Robinson and Erma lois Hedges and two grandchildren, Kelly Jo Acklin and Shaun Acklin. Survivors include her children, Gary Wayne (Donna) Acklin, Shawnee, Oklahoma, Lavern Jesse (Laurel) Acklin, El Dorado, Kansas, Dennis (Denise) Acklin, Mound City, Missouri, Sarah Beth (Randy) Jones, Mansfield, Arkansas, Randy (Bonny) Acklin, Barnard, Missouri, Ronnie (Starla) Acklin, Eufaula, Oklahoma, Kathy Sue (Chuck) Freeman, Garden City, Kansas, Greg (Julie) Acklin, Maryville, Missouri; step-children, daughter-in-law, Sharon Weston, Farragut, Iowa, JoAnn (Jerry) Birkby, Thurman, Iowa and Roger (Carolyn) Weston, Peachtree City Georgia.

Dorothy Mae was very proud of her 200 descendants with three more on the way. Services 2pm Monday, February 18th at the Skidmore United Methodist Church under the care of Price Funeral Home, Maryville. Burial Prairie Home Cemetery, Graham, Missouri.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00pm Sunday, February 17th at the Price Funeral Home. The family suggests memorials to the Skidmore United Methodist Church or Tri City Nutrition Site, Maitland, Missouri. Online condolences can be made to the family at www.
