OBITUARY Dorothy Sistek Johnson November 28, 1924 – September 12, 2018 Dorothy “Dottie” Sistek Johnson, 93, died peacefully September 12, 2018. She is the daughter of Leland and Ruby Mackie. Dottie attended the University of Nebraska in Omaha where she met her husband of 47 years, Robert J. Sistek.

They had two children, Robert and Kathryn, and enjoyed dance clubs, Bridge and boating at Lake Leba in Fremont. Dottie was well known in Omaha for her work as Director of Christian Education at Countryside Community Church where she brought her love of God to countless children and families for more than 26 years. After Robert’s death in 1992, Dottie married Bill Johnson and moved to Littleton, CO where she resided for 8 years.

Bill passed in 1995. In 2000 Dottie moved to Lincoln, Nebraska to be closer to family and her grandchildren. Dottie is a member of PEO and was active in Westminster Church and became a Deacon.

Dottie’s joyful spirit, faith, sincerity, sense of humor and love of life inspired everyone she encountered. She will forever be missed and never forgotten by all who knew her. Dottie is survived by her daughter, Kathryn Anderson; her sister Mary Cosand; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and many that fondly call her Aunt Dottie.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert and husband Bill; son Robert L. Sistek and brother, David Mackie. Visitation will begin at 10am followed by a Funeral Service at 11am on Saturday, September 22 at Crosby-Burket-Swanson-Golden Colonial Chapel. Burial to follow at Westlawn-Hillcrest Memorial Park, 5701 Center Street in Omaha.

In lieu of flowers, memorials suggested to the American Cancer Society. FAMILY Kathryn Anderson, Daughter Mary Cosand, Sister She is also survived by five grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and many that fondly call her Aunt Dottie. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert and husband, Bill; son Robert L. Sistek and brother, David Mackie.
