August 26, 1947 – June 5, 2018 On Tuesday, June 5, 2018, Dorothy Aerni, wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, passed away at her home in Albany. The daughter of William, Sr. and Allie (Bolden) Powers, she was born in Longview, Washington. She married Bernard “Bernie” Aerni, Sr. March 13, 1970 in Vancouver, Washington.

She was preceded in death by both parents; brother, Hank Powers; and sister, LuluBell Lewis. Dorothy is survived by her husband of 48 years, Bernie; children, Michelle Egan (James), Dale Aerni (Connie), and Dawn Haught (Tom); sibllings, Betty Braack, Donald Powers, and William Powers, Jr. Dorothy will be forever remembered by her seven grandchildren, Jordan, Tristyn, and Nyleah Gabrielli; Logan and Aden Aerni, and Travis Haught and Christopher Erving; and one great grandchild, Liam Haught. All who knew her, loved Dorothy.

From making a birthday cake, wedding cake or making sure everyone was fed while boating and camping, she loved unconditionally. A smile was always on her face and, if given the chance, she would not hesitate to share her love for Jesus. Her happiest times were spent with her grandchildren going on adventures of garage sales, parks, and lunch trips to Wendy’s for chicken nuggets, fries and a frosty.

Dorothy will be greatly missed by her family and friends. A funeral service in memory of Dorothy will be held at 12:00noon on Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at 12:00 at The Shift Church, 35355 Eicher Road, SE, Albany, with Pastor Brad Duncan officiating. Reception will follow.
