Obituary of Dorothy Cooper Dorothy Jeraldine “Jerri” Leach Cooper, age 89, of Asheboro died Tuesday, January 29, 2019 at FirstHealth Hospice and Palliative Care of Pinehurst. Mrs. Cooper was born March 25, 1929 in Randolph County to John and Mozelle Leach. She was an active member of Seagrove Christian Church, formerly Seagrove United Church of Christ.

She was retired form Eveready Battery and volunteered at Randolph Hospital and Cross Roads Retirement Center. Jerri loved the outdoors, UNC basketball and working in her garden. In addition to her parents, Jerri was preceded in death by her husbands, Clyde Bumgarner and Ted Cooper, daughter, Sharon Voncannon, brothers, Haran and Bill Leach, sister, Larue Williams.

She is survived by her granddaughter, Amy Graham and husband Vann of Chapel Hill; grandchildren, Dylan and Dalton Graham; son-in-law, Larry Voncannon of Asheboro. The family will receive friends Thursday, January 31, 2019 from 2:00 – 2:45 PM at Seagrove Christian Church, 426 NC Hwy 705, Seagrove. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 PM with Rev.

Bo Wansley and Rev. L. D. Pritchard officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
