Obituary of William Staples Star – William Frederick “Fred” Staples, age 79, passed away on Tuesday, January 22, 2019, at his home. Mr. Staples was born in Lynchburg, VA, on January 4, 1940, to Willie Lewis and Ruby Arina Bragg Staples. He was retired from the Foundry, where he worked in the Maintenance Department.

He was a veteran of the US Marine Corps serving during the Vietnam War. He is survived by sons, Michael Fredick Staples of Star, William Bradford Staples of Monroe, and Patrick Kyle Staples of Star; brother, Cheryl Staples of Denbigh, VA; sister, Myra S. Taylor of Raleigh; grandchildren, Miles, Lucy, Monica Renee, and Michael Auburn Staples. No funeral services are planned at this time.
