Obituary of Jimmy Davis Candor – Jimmy Lee Davis, age 84, formerly of Albemarle, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Thursday, January 10, 2019, at Sandy Ridge Assisted Living in Candor. Mr. Davis was born in Montgomery County on October 2, 1934, to Paul Edward and Mary Elizabeth Green Davis. He was a master custom cabinetmaker by trade and his finished work can be found in many homes and businesses all over the state.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Tim, Johnny, and Bill Davis and great-grandson, C. J. Greene. He is survived by five daughters, Vivian Robinson (Thomas) of Candor, Susan Strider (Clifford Caddell) of Star, Jill Lawing (John) of Manteo, Jean Phillips (Don) of Albemarle, Michelle Williams (Brad) of Hillsborough; one son, Lee Davis (Mary Beth) of Salisbury; 17 grandchildren, Lynn and Russ Cribbs of Pinehurst, Shane Robinson of Candor, Josh Robinson of Biscoe, Casey Robinson of Candor, Michelle and Matt Cribbs of Cornelia, GA, Kaylie Morgan of Star, Chris and Rebecca Greene of Candor, Monroe and Meredith Luther of Aberdeen, Jessica and Justin Dezearn of McLeansville, Connor, Lindsey, Abigail, Liberty, and Isabella Williams, of Hillsborough, Brooks, John Duff, and Sarah Burris of Salisbury; 11 great-grandchildren, Madison Robinson of Candor, Oliver Cribbs of Pinehurst, Erin Cribbs of Athens, GA, Ethan and Jackson Cribbs of Cornelia, GA, Jordan and Christopher Greene of Candor, Reagan and Avery Luther of Aberdeen, and Jace and Jayda Dezearn of McLeansville. The family will receive friends prior to service on Sunday, January 13, 2019, from 2:00 – 2:45 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Home.

The funeral service will begin at 3:00 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Brad Williams officiating. Interment will be in Leach Cemetery in Star.
