OBITUARY Douglas Gregory Schmidt February 25, 1966 – September 19, 2018 Douglas G. Schmidt 52, passed away Wednesday, September 19, 2018. Doug was special and kindhearted. He loved everyone and everyone loved him.

He was a friend to all and a stranger to no one. Doug attended grade school at St. Bernard and went on to graduate from DeSales High School, class of 1984. He worked as a self-employed carpenter for many years.

His father Joseph A. Schmidt Jr. and stepsons Bobby and Brandon Freepartner precede him in death. Doug leaves behind to cherish his memory his mother Mary Jo Davis Schmidt and siblings Diana Francke (Steve), David Schmidt (Stacey Baldwin) and Denny Schmidt. He is also survived by his special friend Judith Gresham and many loving nieces and nephews.

A funeral mass will be held Tuesday, September 25 2018 at 10am at St. Bernard Catholic Church 7500 Tangelo Dr. Louisville Kentucky with entombment to follow in Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be Monday, September 24, 2018 from 3-7pm at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven Funeral Home 4400 Bardstown Road Louisville Kentucky. “Momma loves you to the moon and back.

I’ll see you again someday but until then, I will carry you in my heart”.
