Douglas’ Obituary Douglas Holt “Doug” Cline, 59, of Hagerstown, passed away on Friday, May 24, 2019, his 28 1/2 year wedding anniversary, at Meritus Medical Center. Born September 10, 1959 in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Robert W. Cline, Sr. and Grace (Mercereau) Cline. He was also preceded in death by his three brothers, Craig, Rob II, and Larry Cline.

Doug was a 1976 graduate of Williamsport High School. He majored in US History at Carleton College in Minnesota, graduating in 1980. Doug was an elder of Boonsboro First Christian Church.

He was also a member of multiple historical societies. His love for reading carried him through his career in the book/publishing industry. He went on to manage the family farm after the death of his brother in 2012.

He loved to show and teach people new things, as well as discussing current events. Doug was a proud organ donor. He is survived by his loving wife, Lynn (Woodward) Cline; two sisters-in-law, Gayle Cline and Gail Andersen; brother-in-law, Jerry Matheny; uncle, Ronald Cline and wife Emma Jane; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and a host of friends.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00pm on Monday, June 3, 2019 at Rest Haven Funeral Home, 1601 PA Ave. , Hagerstown. Inurnment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.

Friends will be received one hour prior to the service and following the burial for a lunch reception at the funeral home. Contributions and volunteering in Doug’s memory may be done through your local ALS Chapter. www.
