Literally in the blink of an eye yesterday, Doug Rasmussen went to be with the Lord. We believe that in that moment his hope in God and eternal life were realized. Doug was born in Greenville, Michigan to Robert and Lucille Rasmussen in 1942.

He served his country in the Armed Forces. He loved and cherished his wife of 56 years. He delighted in his 2 children and their wives, was his grandchildren’s greatest fan and found great joy in his 7 great grandchildren.

We mourn the loss of his presence, his tender care and his gentle love for all of us. However, while at the moment, we as a family “are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair;” because we share Doug’s hope. We are not having a funeral based on his request, but we will be getting together as a family at some point in the future when all the kids, grand kids and great grand kids are in town to remember him and to celebrate his life.

Doug is survived by his wife and best friend Jan, his sons Scott (Kate) and Spencer (Jennifer); his grandchildren Benjamin (Paige), Jonathan (Alison), Samuel (Ashley), Abigail, Anna, Alexandra, Anders, and Ashton; and great grandchildren Elijah, Lincoln, Micah, Addison, Runner, Leah and Grace. In lieu of flowers we would love and treasure your memories of Doug.
