Duane A. Fahnestock, 83, of Palmyra passed away Sunday, March 10, 2019 at Spang Crest, Lebanon. He was the loving husband of Anna B. Sovar Fahnestock. Born in Mt.

Holly Springs, PA on April 12, 1935, he was the son of the late Ellis Q. and Maude Strohm Fahnestock. He was retired from the PA Department of Education as an accounting manager. Duane was a 1953 graduate of Milton Hershey School where he was active in its Alumni Association and was a 1961 graduate of Hershey Junior College.

He was a PIAA official for high school football and basketball, and a baseball umpire. He enjoyed golfing in his spare time. Surviving in addition to his wife is a daughter, Sharon A., wife of Steven R. Brown of Hanover; two grandchildren, Andrew, husband of Nicole Brown, and Daniel, husband of Amelia Brown; two great-grandchildren, Damien Thomas and Liam Brown; a sister, Phyllis Lowe of Willow Street, two brothers, David Fahnestock of Palmyra, and Max Fahnestock of Mt.

Holly Springs, PA. He was preceded in death by a great-granddaughter, Grace Brown; five brothers, Robert, John, Curtis, Donald, and Theodore Fahnestock; and two sisters, Dorothy DeBolt and Bernice Cawley. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2019 at 1:00 PM at the Kreamer Funeral Home and Crematory, 618 E. Main Street, Annville.

Interment will be in Gravel Hill Cemetery, Palmyra. A visitation will be held on Saturday from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Four Diamonds at Penn State Children’s Hospital, 1249 Cocoa Avenue, Suite 115, P.O. Box 852, Hershey, PA 17033 in his memory.
