Duel Ray Douglas of Waterloo, Illinois passed away on Thursday, October 25, 2018 at his home, having attained the age of 88 years and 5 days. Born in Midland, Texas on October 20, 1930, he was the son of Clarence and Bertha Douglas, Nee Harrell. He was united in marriage to Lorraine Clark in June, 1956 in Waterloo, Illinois and she preceded him in death on November 26, 2016.

Duel was a supply officer with the United States Air Force and retired as a Technical Sargeant and was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6504 in Waterloo. Duel was a veteran of the Korean War. Preceding him in death were his parents, his wife, Lorraine Douglas and a grandson, Jacob Douglas.

Surviving are his children, Stephen Douglas, Michelle Bergauer, Rebecca Timkin and Michael (Laura) Douglas all of Waterloo, Illinois and Philip (Becky) Douglas of Smithton, Illinois; his sister, Faye Peeler of Pleasanton, Texas, nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. Memorials may be made to the VFW Waterloo Post 6504. Private services will be held.

The Creason Funeral Home in Waterloo, Illinois is in charge of arrangements.
