Dwight “Popeye” Sanborn, age 85, passed away July 12, 2018. He was born on August 17, 1932 in Athens, Ohio to the late Cecil and Lena (White) Sanborn, one of ten children. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, and worked for both White Westinghouse and the Obetz Oh Street Dept.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Helen, Ada May, and Etty; brothers, George, Elmer, Wimp, Bart, and Danny; and his sons, Randy and Russell. He is survived by his wife, Doris; daughters Becky (Dee) Little and Lorna (Jerry) Miller; son, Brett Sanborn; grandchildren, Sasha Sanborn, Brian May, and Melanie Swonger; great-grandchildren, Alex Sanborn and Sienna Sanborn; many nieces and nephews, and friends. An Open House to celebrate Popeye’s life will be held from 12:00 noon to 3:00 P.M. on July 21st at his home.
