Earl E. Young, 96, of Palmer Township, PA, passed away Friday, December 7, 2018 in ManorCare, Palmer Township. Born June 9, 1922, in Pen Argyl, PA, he was a son of the late Raymond C. and Nellie M. (Smale) Young. His wife of 53 years, Carolyn (Swartz) Young, died June 9, 1999.

Earl graduated from Pen Argyl High School Class of 1940 and Churchman’s Business College. He served in the US Army during WWII. Earl retired from Acopian in 1987.

Previously, he was employed by Easton Laundry as a route salesman and then a supervisor. He enjoyed walking his dog, Easton football, swimming at Meuser pool and trips to Wildwood. He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Easton.

He was also a member of the Ambassador’s Club and Savy Seniors of Easton. Surviving are two daughters, Marjorie Kashmer, of Hackettstown, NJ and her companion Lynn Leauber, of Effort, PA and Carol Malia, of Palmer Township; a grandson, Brian Malia and his wife Alison, of Harrisburg, PA and a great-grandson, Owen Malia. In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by a sister, Mildred Wintermute and a grandson, Michael Malia.

Services will be held at Noon Wednesday in the Strunk Funeral Home, Inc., 2101 Northampton Street, Wilson Borough. Call Wednesday 11am-Noon in the funeral home. Burial will be in Northampton Memorial Shrine.
