OBITUARY Edith Geneva (Cole) Knowles April 12, 1937 – January 8, 2019 Edith Cole Knowles of Warrior, AL passed away on Tuesday, January 8,, 2019 at the age of 81. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who was very much loved and will be greatly missed. Edith was a member of Crossroads Baptist Church and enjoyed quilting, gardening, and was always ready for shopping.

Most of all she loved being around her family and looking after her husband and grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Gertrude Cole. Edith is survived by her husband of 62 years, Billy Joe Knowles; sons, Jack Knowles (Angie) and John Knowles (Elizabeth); her daughters, Teresa Higginbotham (Clarence), Sharon James (Wendell) and Lisa Lynn (Jon Ellis); a sister, Leila Ray Hill (John); sister-in-law, Billie Knowles; brothers-in-law, Charlie Knowles (Geri) and Don Veazey; her grandchildren, Jeff Higginbotham (Shelley), Tracy Armstrong (Jake), Wendy Lucas (Adam), Rachel Morse (Matthew), Sarah Thomas (Bradley), Wesley Knowles (Ashton), Heather Knowles(Brent), Tyler Lynn, Shelby Lynn, Olivia Lynn, Jesse Knowles (Amber), Jenna Knowles, and Jordan Knowles; great grandchildren, Anna Kate Armstrong, Bentley Armstrong, Rylee Higginbotham, Avery Higginbotham, Cole Lucas, Blake Lucas, Beau Lucas, Gracyn Knowles, Ava Layne Knowles, Braxton, Jaxon, Kylee, and Kelsi, Braylee Miller, and Alayna Essig; a special cousin, Ruth Hill; nieces, nephews, and many special friends.

Services will be held on Friday, January 11th at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel at 11 AM with visitation beginning at 10AM. Interment will follow in Oakwood Memorial Gardens.
