Destiny Marie Walker passed away tragically in an automobile accident at age 14 on February 19, 2019. She is survived by her mother, Helen Tavarez; her grandparents, Rosa Susana and Juan Tavarez; one sister, Katie Stasko; one uncle, Juan Roberto Tavarez; four aunts, Melissa Hernandez, Isabelle Tavarez, Maria Tavarez, and Judi Tavarez; special friend, Kason Marlin; and many cousins and friends. Destiny was preceded in death by her aunt, Cathleen Hernandez.

Destiny was a student at Fultondale High School where she was very active. She was confirmed and baptized at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church. She was very outgoing and could light up a room with her smile.

She will be missed forever by countless people especially her young cousins, Dominick, Jaiden, and Landon as she was a huge part of their life. She had a beautiful soul and made friends with everyone she came in contact with. Visitation will be Monday, February 25, 2019 at The New Gardendale Funeral Home from 5:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. A funeral mass will be held Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Gardendale.
