Larry Waites passed away on Thursday, January 31, 2019 at age 78. He is survived by two sons, Jeff Waites and Lee (Margaret) Waites; stepdaughter, Christy (Mark) Putman; two grandsons, Neal Waites and Travis Putman; two granddaughters Leah Waites and Meredith Putman; two brothers, Doug Waites and Ray (Janet) Waites; and other extended family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Larry Lee Waites.

Larry practiced law where he served both as a prosecutor and defense attorney in Jefferson and Blount counties. Visitation will be Monday, February 4, 2019 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at The New Gardendale Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, February 5, 2019 at 12:00 p.m. at Greenwood Cemetery in Montgomery, AL.
