Andrew Jackson Parsons, Jr. went to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 9, 2019 at age 80. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Mary Parsons; five children, Andrew (Sue) Parsons, Ondra Lynn Parsons, Debbie (Jeff) Lenard, and Perry Parsons; eight grandsons; six granddaughters; fourteen great grandsons; 12 great granddaughters and one expected in May; six great great grandsons; three great great granddaughters; one sister, Mavis Skinner; and a host of other extended family and friends. Mr. Parsons was preceded in death by his son, Danny Wayne Parsons; and one brother, Jimmy Parsons.

He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and will be missed by his family. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. He was Sunday School Superintendent and ordained deacon at Graves Gap Baptist Church before the church closed.

He was most recently a member of Sulphur Springs Baptist Church. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 12, 2019 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at The New Gardendale Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Wednesday, March 13, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home with burial to follow at Sulphur Springs Cemetery.
