Edmund J. Wanta 87 passed away peacefully on July 24, 2018 at North Central Health Care with family by his side. He was born to the late Basil and Mary (Gosorowska) on March 8, 1931. After graduating he entered into the United States Army and served during the Korean War.

He returned to marry the love of his life Kathleen (Mueller) on September 8, 1956 at Holy Name of Jesus Parish. They celebrated 61 years together. With his wife by his side they traveled the world together.

Edmund… Read More » loved watching the Milwaukee Brewers, Green Bay Packers, playing poker with the guys, going to the Log Cabin daily to socialize, but most of all his heart was being with his wife Kathleen and their family and friends. No matter what was going on in his life, he kept his faith close to him every day. He attended masses regularly at St. Therese Catholic Church.

He is survived by his wife Kathleen, four children; Mike (Barbara) Wanta, Mary (Sean) Rice, Dave Wanta, and Anne (Chris) Kalafice. Seven grandchildren; Kasey, Kaitlin Kalafice, Christina, Meredith Wanta, Ciarra, Ashleigh and Isabel Wanta. He is preceded in death by his siblings; Peter Wanta, Leonard Wanta and Helen Walker.

Service will be held on Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at St. Therese Catholic Church 113 W Kort St. Rothschild. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until time of mass at 11:00 with Fr. Louis Britto officiating.

Burial will take place at Gate of Heaven Cemetery with the American Legion Post #10 performing full Military Honors. John J. Buettgen Funeral Home is assisting the family at this time. Online condolences can be expressed at www.
