Edna Lucille (Schob) Fulkerson, 84, Angel on Earth, went home to be with Jesus Christ her Lord and Savior on June 21, 2018. All who knew Edna knew of her devotion to her family, friends, and to the church, and of her commitment to God through service to others. Edna was born on October 22nd, 1933 in Lowell, Ohio to Virginia Belle (Reed) Schob and Walter Schob and was raised by her mother and step-father, Howard Presgraves.

She graduated from South Zanesville High School in 1951 which is also the year that she married her high school sweetheart Mark Fulkerson on June 10th. Edna resided in South Zanesville for most of her life where she was very active in volunteer work, supporting her husband’s ministry work, and loving and raising her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was known for her cooking, baking, and sewing, her Sunday School lessons and Bible School songs, and her work as a PAL for Maysville Local Schools for over 40 years.

Edna also volunteered for the Muskingum County Board of Elections and she sang in the church choir at South Zanesville United Methodist Church, where she was a life-long member. Edna’s family gathered at her home for Sunday dinner at 1 o’clock every week for over 60 years and she welcomed all guests with open arms. Edna will be remembered for her peach-pecan and pumpkin pies, noodles, and birthday cakes, her patience, kindness, and unwavering and unconditional love for others, and most of all, her heart of gold.

Edna was proceeded in death by her husband Mark and she is survived by three children, Ron (Cheryl) Fulkerson of Zanesville, Peggy (David) Sheppard of Zanesville, and Mike (Reva) Fulkerson of Roseville, six grandchildren, Erin (Andy) Barbolla, Brent (Kathy) Fulkerson, Jocelyn (Neil) Cosgrave, Ryan (Amanda) Sheppard, Kayla Crane (Ryan), Kody (Lundy) Fulkerson, and eleven great-grandchildren, Phillip and Elizabeth Barbolla, Madison and Sara Fulkerson and Anthony Falletti, Shepp and Ayce Cosgrave, and Addilyn and Kasyn Crane, Benjamin Sheppard, and Ella Fulkerson. Edna spent many years watching and video recording her children, grand-children, and great-grandchildren participate in a variety of activities, which made her very proud and happy. Edna is also survived by one sister, Lois (Harris) Perkins and one brother, Lawrence (Phyllis) Schob.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and by two sisters Helen Louise (Schob) Tilton and Molly Tipton. Calling hours will be held from 2-8 P.M. on Friday, June 22, 2018 at BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE where funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, June 23, 2018. Edna will be buried at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery, Zanesville.

Along with flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Edna’s name to South Zanesville United Methodist Church 53 E. Main Street, Zanesville, OH 43701. Donations are also being taken on GoFundMe to purchase books for classrooms at Maysville Elementary School. Edna’s family would like to give special thanks to the nurses and staff at Genesis Hospital’s CCU Unit and Select Specialty Hospital in Newark, Ohio for their care and support over the past month.
