OBITUARY Edna Mae Pope April 30, 1921 – December 30, 2018 Edna Mae Pope, 97, a lifelong Memphian, died December 30th, 2018 at St. Francis Bartlett Hospital. Edna was a retired nurse from Baptist Hospital Downtown and B’nai Brith Hospital both here in Memphis. She was a lifelong Sunday School Teacher at Ardmore Baptist Church, Crossroads Baptist and her church home Georgian Hills Baptist Church.

Family and friends will gather on Friday, January 4 beginning at 12:30 p.m. until funeral services begin at 2:00 p.m. all at Memphis Funeral Home, 5599 Poplar Avenue, Memphis, TN 38119. Pastor Tim Vasser of Georgian Hills will lead the service. Ms. Pope was preceded in death by her husband William James Pope, Sr.; children Patricia Joan Pope Pierce, William James “Jimmy” Pope, Jr., Robert “Bobby” Pope, Sr., and Samuel “Jack” Pope.

She is survived by ten grandchildren. She lived with and was cared for by granddaughter Terri (David) Cropf. Visited often and loved by grandsons Scott Pierce & Robert (Cindy) Pope.

Also surviving Edna are her 21 great-grandchildren, and 18 great-great-grandchildren. Online condolences may be offered through www. memphisfuneralhome.net.
