OBITUARY Edsel Clinton “Buck” Headrick July 29, 1927 – December 10, 2018 Edsel Clinton “Buck” Headrick, a resident of Gardendale, Alabama, was born on June 29, 1927 and passed away peacefully on December 10, 2018 at the age of 91. Buck retired from the Social Security Administration after 34 years of service where he received the Commissioners Citation Award for Outstanding Work. He and Ruby were charter members of the original, Pine Crest Country Club in Gardendale and member of Gardendale First Baptist Church.

He loved to play golf and was an avid University of Alabama fan. He coached little league baseball in Gardendale for many years. He was a devoted family man and he loved his family dearly.

Buck was preceded in death by his parents, Clint and Martha Headrick; two brothers, George Headrick and Alex Headrick, and a sister, Sybil Sanders. Buck is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Ruby Love Headrick; one daughter, Diane Protti and her husband, Dr. Russell Protti; one son, Bart Headrick and his wife, Kathy Headrick, several other family members and a host of friends. A celebration of his life will be held at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel on Thursday, December 13, 2018 with a time of visitation to begin at 1:00pm; funeral service at 2:00pm, followed by his burial in Oakwood Memorial Gardens, Gardendale, Alabama.
