Westfield – Edward A. Woodis Jr. 71, of Westfield died Thursday, July 5, 2018 in Baystate Medical Center. He was born in Westfield on April 3, 1947 and was raised by his Aunt Alvira and Uncle Nicholas Sebastiano. Ed graduated from Chester High School in 1965 and Westfield State University.

He was employed by B&E Aircraft Manufacturing retiring in 2015. He was a US Naval Vietnam Veteran serving on the USS Braine and was a member of the Russell VFW. He was also a member of the Chester Alumni committee and the USS Braine reunion association.

He had a love for boating, classic cars and his family. Ed leaves his wife of forty-four years, Randy R. (Adams) Woodis, two children Edward A. Woodis III and Stephanie S. Harder and three grandchildren, Julia Manley, James and Grace Harder all of Westfield. Also his sister Mary Mason Gleason and nephew Shawn Mason of Bernardston.

A sister Cherly Woodis predeceased him in 1959. Remembering his Aunt Mary Dalesandro who cooked his favorite Italian dishes in the nursing home and friend Sharon Knappe for daily visits. Calling Hours for Ed will be Monday, July 9, 2018 from 4-7 PM at Firtion-Adams Funeral Service, 76 Broad St. Westfield.

Burial with Military Honors will be Tuesday, July 10th at 11 AM in the Mass Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery in Agawam. Donations may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children, 516 Carew St. Springfield, MA, 01104 or the Westfield Homeless Cat Shelter, 1124 East Mountain Rd. Westfield, MA, 01085.
