Edward H. Scott, 91, of Grafton passed away peacefully on Fri. Jan. 4, 2019 surrounded by his loving family.

He was the husband of the late Marilyn B. (Bliss) Scott who died in 2015. They married in Milford in 1950 and celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary. Ed was born Sept.

28, 1927 in Milford the son of the late Carlton and Marion (Judkins) Scott and was a graduate of Hopedale High School. Ed started his career working in his grandfather’s market as a child and went on to become a salesman, finish carpenter, builder, remodeler, painter, Deputy Fire Chief, Selectman, landlord and most importantly a loving husband and father.

He loved hard work and fresh air, and could be found working out in the yard year-round. Among some of his accomplishments, he took great pride in leading an untiring fundraising campaign to bring the first Jaws of Life rescue tool to the Hopedale Fire Department. Ed was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran, serving in WW II.

Ed is survived by two sons, Douglas E. Scott of Milford and Mark L. and his wife Krissy Scott of Grafton, his daughter-in-law Lee Scott of Hanover, 7 grandchildren, Bryan and his wife Katie Scott of N. Reading, Jason and his wife Jennifer Scott of Hanover, Greg Scott and his fiancee Nicole Miles of Northbridge, Gary Scott and his fiancee Michelle Stransky of Hanover, Kayleigh and her husband Steve Tosches of Milford, Taylor Dowden and his fiancee Jeanette Swan of Hopedale and Cody Harris of Upton. He also leaves 6 great grandchildren, Julia, Sam, Connor, Luke, Madeline and Daniel and his beloved family dog “Bella”. Ed was predeceased by one son, Robert C. Scott who died in 2014 and a brother, Robert Scott.

A Celebration of life brunch will be held Saturday January 26, 2019 from 11AM – 1PM at The Grafton Inn, Rte. 140, Grafton. The family would like to thank everyone for their care, friendship and compassion at the Beaumont facilities and the Salmon Hospice nursing team.
