Edward Y. McClelland, 64, of Kellogg died on Wednesday, November 7, 2018, in Des Moines. A visitation will be held from 1-3 p.m., Sunday, November 11, at the Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory. Memorials to Ed’s family may be left at the funeral home.

Ed, the son of Paul Roger and Ruth (Bolen) McClelland, Jr., was born on April 26, 1954 in Newton. He graduated from Newton High School in 1972. On November 2, 1973, Ed was united in marriage with Vicky Lindsey at the Metz Community Church in rural Newton.

Ed worked in skilled trades for many years both at the Maytag Company in Newton for 16 years and at Firestone in Des Moines for 10 years. Ed was a member of the Lewisville Masonic Lodge No. 201 and the U.S. Local 310 Union.

He had a ton of hobbies and was never idle. Ed enjoyed hunting, fishing, canoeing, camping, riding bicycles, and woodworking. He also had an extensive gun collection and liked going shooting.

Ed is survived by his wife, Vicky McClelland of Kellogg; three sons, Josh (Brooke) McClelland of Perryville, Missouri, Pat (Michelle) McClelland of Kirksville, Missouri, and Doug (Patty) McClelland of Kellogg; his grandchildren, Aiden and Logan McClelland, Jacoby Sage, and Raeanna, Jayden, and Noah McClelland; great-granddaughter, Chloe Sudbrock; and his sister, Melonie (John) Harris of Sierra Vista, Arizona. He was preceded in death by his parents.
