Mr. Edward N. LaCoille, Sr., 84, of Pittsfield, passed away on Wednesday, February 13, 2019. Born in Putnam, CT on January 29, 1935 the son of William and Eva Brooks LaCoille, he attended schools in Connecticut. He moved to Becket from Hatfield, MA in 1990 and has been a resident of Pittsfield since 2003, spending winters in Leesburg, FL.

He was a US Navy Veteran, serving as a Seaman during the Korean War. Mr. LaCoille worked as a Regional Manager for the Telmark division of Agway for 28 years, retiring in 1989. He was a member of the American Legion, V.F.W. and the Lions Club.

Mr. LaCoille was predeceased by his wife, the former Rachel Morin, whom he married on October 29, 1955 in Putnam, CT; she passed away on March 14, 2009. He is survived by his children, Edward LaCoille, Jr. and Cheryl Bean and her husband Brian; a brother, Eugene LaCoille; 3 grandchildren, Jason Bean, Kyle Bean and Valerie Guinther and 3 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by a sister, Elaine Credit, a brother, Wilfred LaCoille and daughter-in-law, Linda LaCoille.

He also leaves his very good friend Janice Deluca. The family of Edward LaCoille would like to thank the staff at Melbourne Place for the compassionate care they expressed to Ed, especially Jen, Kayla, Tori and Tami. They would also like to thank Hospice of Western and Central MA, especially Arlene and Kathy for their sympathetic care.

Funeral Notice: Funeral services for Mr. Edward N. LaCoille, Sr. will be Tuesday, February 19, 2019 with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at St. Mark’s Church celebrated by Rev. Christopher Fedoryshyn, Administrator. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.

Calling hours at the Dwyer Funeral Home will be Tuesday morning from 9 to 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, in care of the Dwyer Funeral Home, 776 North St., Pittsfield, MA 01201 in his memory.
