Edward “Ray” Ford Edward “Ray” Ford, 78 years old, of Green City, Missouri passed away Monday, October 29, 2018 at Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville, Missouri. Ray was born November 25, 1939 in Milan, Missouri to Grant Edward and Velma (Warren) Ford. On November 6, 1960 in Lancaster, Missouri he married Loyce Jane Brundage and she preceded him in death on March 28, 2018.

Also preceding him in death are his parents and one son, Danny Ford. Ray is survived by one daughter Teressa and husband Donovan Shafer of Green Castle, Missouri; three grandchildren, Brandon Ford, Faith Ford and Shasta Venegas; two brother in-laws, Charles Brundage and Ted Hunt; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Ray was a life long resident of Sullivan County.

He graduated from the Green City R-1 High School Class of 1957. He worked at a golf course as well as a Lumber yard in Iowa his early years. In 1959 he started working for Northeast Missouri Rural Telephone.

In 1973 Ray accepted the position of company manager where he served until his retirement in 2006. Ray was a member of the Green City First Baptist Church. He was a member of the Pollock Masonic Lodge #349 and the NRA.

He served on several boards, some of these being the National Telephone Coop Association, Missouri Telephone Association, Sullivan County Hospital, Green Castle Cemetery and the Farmers Bank of Green City. He enjoyed raising cattle and bird hunting. He loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Ray was a faithful, loving husband who spent many years caring for his wife. Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M, Saturday, November 3, 2018 at the Ruschmeier Funeral Home in Green City. Burial will follow in the Mt.

Olivet Cemetery in Green City. A visitation is scheduled for 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., Friday, November 2, 2018 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Mt.

Olivet Cemetery.
