Edward S Brown , June 12, 1958 — May 12, 2019

Edward S. Brown, 60, of Matawan, New Jersey, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, May 12, 2019. Edward was born on June 12, 1958 in Long Branch, New Jersey and grew up in Union Beach. On November 12, 1977, Edward and his high school sweetheart, Carol, were married and began their lives together.

For the past 24 years they have lived in Matawan, New Jersey, where they raised their family. Edward began his career as Maintenance Director of Arnold Walter Nursing Home in Hazlet/Holmdel on March 14, 1988. He was extremely dedicated to his job and it was a very important part of his life.

Edward also enjoyed camping and fishing in his spare time. Most of all, Edward always had a very positive and uplifting spirit, had a great sense of humor, and was the life of the party. He was predeceased by his parents, Edward and Catherine (Serios) Brown, and his dear siblings, David Brown and Hope Brown Schwedes.

Edward is survived by his beloved and devoted wife of 41 years, Carol (Cline) Brown, his loving children, Edward Brown Jr. of Middletown, New Jersey, Danielle Brown of Matawan, New Jersey, Steven Brown of Matwan, New Jersey, and Ryan Brown of Matawan, New Jersey, his adored family dog Kahlua, and his dear brother, John Brown and his companion Dawn Murray. Edward is also survived by his dear brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Herb Schwedes, Beverly and Jim Furlong, David and June Cline, Tom and Lisa Cline, JoAnn and Joseph Bradis, and Richard and Judy Cline, along with his cherished niece and nephew, Faith Miseje and Dennis Isenburg, and many more special nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Edward will be greatly missed, but never forgotten.

Family and friends are invited to visit on Thursday, May 16, 2019 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM and Friday morning, May 17, 2019 time to be announced, at the Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 3269 State Highway/Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730. A prayer service will be offered at the funeral home during visitation hours on Thursday evening. Entombment will follow Friday morning’s visitation hours at Holmdel Cemetery Mausoleum, 900 Holmdel Road, Holmdel, New Jersey 07733.
