Iles, Edwin W. Saginaw, Michigan Loving husband of the late Betty, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather, and uncle, passed away Monday, April 16, 2018, at Covenant Harrison, at the age of 93 years. He was born November 19, 1924, in Ithaca, the son of the late Arthur and Amelia (Gulick) Iles. He graduated from Ithaca High School and then served with the US Army Air Force during World War II.

He was foreman at Iles Electric for over 60 years, retiring in 1987. He was a very active member of Countryside Trinity Church, where he served as Elder and Deacon, and served on various committees, including the Building Committee. He was a member of Local 557 IBEW and of American Legion Post #439.

He was a Royal Arch Mason, a member and Past Master of the Salina – Pioneer Lodge #79, F & AM, member and Past Patron of the Martha Washington Chapter #113, O.E.S., a 32° Mason and member of the Bay City Consistory, the St. Bernard Commandery, and the Elf Khurafeh Shrine Temple, and a member and Past Secretary of the Shrine Circus Club. He was also a Director and Past President of the Saginaw Field and Stream Club. He was an avid gardener.

Ed was devoted to his family and loved being with his young family members. He married Betty Mae Ester on February 7, 1948; she predeceased him November 9, 2014, after 65 years of marriage. Surviving are their children: Diana (James) Wojtasinski, Debra (Donn) Penney, David (Kira) Iles, Daniel (Stacy) Iles, grandchildren: Nicole (Brett) Bixby, Traci Rapin, Nate (Linda) Wojtasinski, Mary (Kyle) Marietta, Laura (Tyler) Bowen, Lydia (Andrew) Schultz, Chad (Terri) Penney, Shannon Penney, Becky (Chad) Randolph, Daniel (Noelle), Anthony, Lisa, Christina, Dustin, Devin, Trenton and Charli Iles; 24 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and their families.

Besides his wife and parents, he was predeceased by a daughter, Dawn Marie Iles; grandson, Matthew James Wojtasinski; and by two brothers and two sisters, Clarence “Buck” (Carrie) Iles, Elton (Lela) Iles, Marie Iles and Margaret Weberg. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 20, 2018, at Countryside Trinity Church, 4690 Weiss Road. Rev.

David Myers will officiate with military burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens under the auspices of VFW Post #1566. His family will receive friends at the W. L. Case and Company Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Road, from 1:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, where the Salina – Pioneer Lodge #79, F & AM, will conduct a Masonic memorial service at 6:00 p.m. Thursday. Family and friends may then gather at the church on 10:00 a.m. Friday until the time of service.
