Eileen D. Shigo, age 82, of North Huntingdon, died February 21, 2019, at the Vincentian Home in the North Hills of Pittsburgh. Born December 17, 1936, in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of the late James F. and Eleanore (Szygenda) McKay and the wife of the late James Shigo, Jr. Eileen retired from McKeesport Hospital, where she was a registered nurse with 40 years of caring service. She was a graduate of the McKeesport Hospital School of Nursing, Class of 1957.

Eileen was proud of her faith and attended the St. Agnes Church of North Huntingdon. She was a US Air Force veteran, serving during peacetime. She enjoyed watching Pittsburgh Penguin’s hockey and she especially loved watching her grandsons play hockey and other activities.

Eileen lived for her family and her greatest joy was spending time with them. She is survived by her children, James (Lori) Shigo of North Huntingdon and Denise (Tom) Daniels of Wexford, PA; grandsons, Tyler James, Connor G. and Ryan T.; siblings, Mary Margaret (Louis) Malandra of McKeesport and James (Judy) McKay of Northridge, CA; also nieces and nephews. Family and friends will be received at Jaycox-Jaworski Funeral Home & Crematory on Sunday, February 24, 2019, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. A blessing service will be celebrated on Monday, 10 a.m., in the funeral home chapel.

Msgr. V. Paul Fitzmaurice will be the celebrant. Burial will follow in New St. Joseph Cemetery.
