Kenneth B. Forsythe, age 69, of McKeesport, died February 3, 2019, at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital. Born April 10, 1949, in McKeesport, he was the son of the late Melvin and Mary (Ravenscroft) Forsythe; life long friend, Janis (Tatar) Forsythe. Kenn retired as the Deputy Fire Chief from the City of McKeesport Fire Department, with over 34 years of serving our community.

He was a US Marine Corps Veteran, serving during the Vietnam War. He was also a member of the American Legion Post #980 of Plum. Kenn enjoyed playing with his grand dogs; Genghis, aka, “Gunny,” and Primrose, aka, “Princess”, going camping and sitting around the fire drinking a beer and telling stories.

Kenn always talked about his time spent in Hawaii after retiring and hoped of heading back to visit. Kenn is survived by his grandchildren; Zane, Camden, Madison, Josie, Noah and Shawn; children, Jennifer Messner of Port Vue, Kenneth B. (April) Forsythe of Tennessee, Melissa (Michael) Lander of Plum Borough and Megan (Michael) Glaser of Pittsburgh; siblings, Bonnie Zuzo of New Stanton and Cheryl Cinefra of Plum Borough; also many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Kenn is also preceded in death by brother-in-laws, James Zuzo and Gary Cinefra.

Family and friends will be received at Jaycox-Jaworski Funeral Home & Crematory on Monday, February 11, 2019, from 5 p.m. until the time of McKeesport Fire Department Service, at 7:00 p.m. Family reflection will be on Tuesday, 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Inurnment and military honors will follow at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to UPMC Lung Transplant Program, UPMC Presbyterian, Suite C-900, 200 Lothrop St., Pittsburgh, Pa.
