Eileen F. Alexander 95, of Verplanck, NY died peacefully at her home surrounded by her children on Tuesday March 12, 2019. Eileen was born in Manhattan on March 24, 1923 to Beatrice and James Ford. The family moved to Montrose and Eileen graduated from Hendrick Hudson High School.

While working in Manhattan as an executive secretary Eileen met and married James E. Alexander on April 18, 1953. While Eileen devoted her life to her six children she somehow found time to be a member of the A.O.H., Peekskill Garden Club and was secretary for the Plumbing and Electrical and Fire Advisory Board, In addition Eileen ran one of the most successful fundraisers for Peekskill Hospital, the annual Coffee Break which turned into the annual “Irish Coffee Break”. After working for years in the Code Enforcement Department for the Town of Cortlandt, Eileen recently retired at the age of 92.

Eileen is predeceased by her husband James E. Alexander and her sons John T. Alexander and Michael J. Alexander. She is survived by her daughter Eileen M. Alexander, Margaret M. McKeon, Clare M. Kennedy and her son James P. Alexander, eleven grandchildren, six great grandchildren, 2 sisters a niece and several nephews. Funeral Mass, St. Patrick’s Church, Verplanck, NY on Saturday at 9:30am.

Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the St. Patrick’s Church in Verplanck, NY.
