Elaine’s Obituary Knowles, Elaine A., age 95 of Crystal passed away 1/22/2019. Loving wife, mother and grandmother. Preceded in death by husband, James; infant children, Dennis and Mary Ellen; parents, Emiel and Herminie Soens; and sister, Lorraine.

Survived by children, Tom (Brenda), Glenn (Betsy) and Craig (Sue); 8 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; brother, Most Rev. Lawrence Soens; other relatives and friends. She had many jobs over the years but took the most pride in working for the Post Office in Carpentersville, IL.

In her final years she was never far away from her prayer book, the Magnificat. She enjoyed the simple pleasures in life such as rhubarb sauce, a garden tomato, a cherry Danish, and time with her children and grandchildren. Elaine was a longtime parishioner of the Church of St. Raphael.

Mass of Christian Burial Saturday (1/26), 11 AM with visitation starting at 10 AM at the Church of St. Raphael, 7301 Bass Lake Rd. , Crystal. Private interment Ft.

Snelling. Memorials preferred to the church or the MS Society.
