Elaine M. Tyger Tonkavich, 76, of Fayette City, Washington Twp, passed away Tuesday, May 28, 2019 at TownView Health & Rehabilitation Center, Canonsburg. Born May 7, 1943 in Monessen, PA she was the daughter of the late Charles and Elizabeth Ondulick Tyger. A resident of Fayette City for the past 35 years, Mrs. Tonkavich was a member of St. Mary’s Bzyantine Catholic Church, Monessen.

Mrs. Tonkavich was a former beautician for several shops in Monessen, was later employed at the former Halco on Rt. 906, was also a member of St. Mary’s Ladies Guild, and enjoyed taking care of her family and her pet dog, Garbo. She is survived by, her husband Gary Tonkavich, to whom she was married to or 51 years, son Zeb Tonkavich of Fayette City, and sister Dorothea Kalamoutousis of Monessen.

Visitation will be held Thursday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the Parzynski Funeral Home & Cremations, Family Owned and Operated, 626 Broad Avenue, Belle Vernon 724-929-6183. Funeral services will be held Friday at 10:00 am at Parzynski Funeral Home & Cremations with the Rev. Stephen J. Wahal as celebrant.

Interment will take place in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Members of St. Mary’s Byzantine Church will pray the rosary for the departed soul of Elaine Thursday at 2 pm in the funeral home. Condolences accepted at the funeral home’s website, www.
