Obituary of Elaine McKay Elaine B. McKay, 90, of Stow Glen Retirement Village, 4285 Kent Rd, Stow, passed away on Wednesday, February 20, 2019 at Summa Akron City Hospital. Born November 30, 1928, in Cleveland, she was the daughter of Henry William and Louise (Froehlich) Bletsch. She was united in marriage to George B. McKay on October 1, 1949.

Her husband of 69 years survives at their residence. She is survived by her three children, Brett McKay and wife, Judy, of Macedonia; Beth Mostyn and husband, Vic, of Akron; and Kevin McKay and wife, Judy, of Huntingdon, PA. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, Chris Stone (Dave), Katie McKay (Shannon Reisdorf), Brian Postma (Melissa), Laura Burrell (Ballan), Kyle McKay (Rebecca), Kellie Regan (Jeremy), Sean McKay, Corey McKay, and Ryan McKay (Breanna); and seven great-grandchildren, Maggie Stone, Emma Stone, Lily Postma, Josie Postma, Jackson Clark, Addison Clark and Claire McKay.

She was preceded in death by her parents and all of her siblings, William H., Virginia Louise, Jean Rosemarie, and Roland, “Ron” Bletsch. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was a graduate of Western Tech High School, Cleveland, in 1947.

She worked at Standard Oil in downtown Cleveland for a few years and then stayed at home to raise her children in Northfield. She operated a ceramic studio at their residence on Carlin Road for a number of years. Over the years, she was a member of the United Methodist Church of Macedonia and First United Methodist Church of Cuyahoga Falls.

She actively served in the United Methodist Women’s Group for a number of years as well as a parent at the school, particularly for the PTA and band association. She and George also enjoyed to fish, golf and travel together in their retirement years. Her children and grandchildren will always remember how she loved to cook, bake, decorate their home and dress impeccably.

There will be no calling hours. A private family service will be held at the family’s convenience. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in remembrance may be made the United Methodist Church of Macedonia, 1280 East Aurora Rd, Route 82, Macedonia, OH 44056.
