Southwick-Eleanor Rose (Kovacs) Swientisky, 85, died Monday, May 27th at home. She was born in Burlington, VT on June 23, 1933. She grew up inWestfield, attended St. Mary’s Catholic School, worked at Fenton Car Dealership, until getting married and moving to New Jersey for 25 years.

Eleanor loved her hometown and moved back for the last 38 years. She was a parishioner of St. Casmir’s Church; she enjoyed artwork, painting and stained glass. Eleanor also loved gardening, flowers and her animals.

She was pre-deceased by her son Drew Swientisky in February of 2019. She leaves her sons Ross Swientisky of Hamden, CT, Neal Swientisky of Centerville, VA and Christopher Swientisky of Boston and 6 grandchildren. Eleanor had a wealth of friends and family and will be dearly missed.

Calling hours will be held on Friday May 31st for 5-8 pm from the Firtion-Adams Funeral Service, 76 Broad Street, Westfield. A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday at 1 pm in St. Peter’s and St. Casimir’s Parish, 22 State Street, Westfield. Burial will be private.
