OBITUARY Eleanor Ruth Cheaves December 13, 1936 – November 20, 2018 Play Tribute Movie Mrs. Eleanor Ruth Cheaves, age 81 of Gadsden went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on November 20, 2018. Her funeral service will be held at Morgan Funeral Chapel on Friday November 23rd at 3:00 P.M. The family will receive friends for visitation at the funeral home Friday from 1 to 3 prior to the service in the chapel. Mrs. Cheaves was a longtime member of Dwight Baptist Church in Alabama City until the decline of her health prevented from attending.

Mrs. Cheaves loved her home church, and for many years she served as a Sunday School teacher and helped with keeping the children in the nursery. Eleanor was also a homemaker, and enjoyed spending her time crafting, cooking, and doting on her granddaughters. Those preceding her in death include her husband of more than fifty years, Lonnie; and her parents, Lester and Lucille Farley.

She leaves behind; Her sons, Jerry Cheaves and Arthur Cheaves; granddaughters, Katie and Michela; and sisters, Marie Malone and Charlsie Smith. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Dwight Baptist Church. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
