Elena P.’s Obituary Elena P. Cantu left her earthly home in Houston, Texas and arrived at her heavenly home on December 4, 2018 at the age of 87; entering her eternal life with her Savior, Jesus Christ. She was born in Robstown, Texas on July 22, 1931 to the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry and Elvia Perez. Elena retired from Luby’s Cafeteria in Corpus Christi, Texas in the 1980’s.

She loved her family and displayed her great love by always being there for them daily, cooking, babysitting, and giving words of wisdom until a stroke kept her from displaying her great love for her family. She moved to Houston, Texas after her stroke where she was cared for by her precious daughter Elsa Maciel for over 20 years until her passing. She will always be remembered for her words of wisdom to her family, her generous heart, and her beautiful laughter.

She will be greatly missed. She is preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Andres M. Cantu; son, Andy P. Cantu; her grandchildren, Rene Gonzales, Beatrice Colunga, Kaitlyn, Rachel, and Mackenzie Hook; great grandson, Kyle Jenkins; and her siblings, Santos Perez and Maria Carrion. They are all rejoicing with her in Heaven.

Elena is survived by her devoted children, Elsa Maciel, Oscar Cantu, Maryjane Grayson, Rudy Cantu, Norma Aguilar, Mary Lou Zamora, Sandra Cantu, Ramiro Cantu, David Cantu, and Brenda Hook; 41 grandchildren; many great and great-great grandchildren; her loving sister Inez Solis; and a host of treasured nephews, nieces, loved ones, and friends. The family will receive condolences on Sunday, December 9, 2018 at Treviño Funeral Home, 3006 Niagara St. @ Port; with a prayer service to begin at 6:00 PM. A chapel service will be held at 12:30 PM on Monday, December 10, 2018, at Treviño Funeral Home.

A funeral cortege will depart the funeral home at 1:30 PM to Memory Gardens Cemetery for Rite of Committal and Interment.
