Mrs. Elfriede Marie Teutschbein Willis, 93, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, June 9, 2018 at her residence in Tifton. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 12th at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of TyTy with Rev. Rodney Owens officiating.

Interment will follow in First Baptist Church of TyTy Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday evening, June 11th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Albritton Funeral Home. The casket will lie in state an hour before the service in the church.

Pallbearers will be Eric Willis, Michael Pisciotta, Paten Willis, Kurt Willis, Rob Willis, Steve Wood, Court Lukens and Don Pisciotta. Mrs. Willis was born July 14, 1924 in Greiz-Thueringen, Germany to the late Kurt and Elsa Miester Teutschbein. She arrived in Tifton, Georgia from Germany June 15, 1947 to marry her love, Lemmie J. Willis (who died in 1975) whom she met while he was serving in the United States Army during World War II.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Frank Teutschbein. Mrs. Willis was a member of First Baptist Church of TyTy and very active in her church during her younger years. She was a homemaker who loved to cook and watch cooking shows.

She enjoyed traveling, gardening and tending her flowers. Mrs. Willis loved her family especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. During the war she volunteered for the Red Cross in Germany.

Mrs. Willis is survived by four sons and one daughter and their spouses, Frank and Peggy Willis of TyTy, Vernon and Andrea Willis of Tifton, Roy and Lynda Willis of Tifton, Shirley and Don Pisciotta of Tifton and Glen Willis of Tifton; ten grandchildren and their spouses, Laura and Steve Wood, Emily Willis, Eric and Megan Willis, Jennifer and George Hatfield, Hallie and Court Lukens, Michael and Amanda Pisciotta, Paten and Katy Willis, Kurt Willis, Anna and Tommy Ross Vance and Rob and Hannah Willis; eighteen great-grandchildren, Kaitlin Pennington, Blake Pennington, Caleb Willis, Micah Willis, Chip Hatfield, Sadie Willis, Hank Hatfield, Sutton Willis, Maddox Lukens, Saylor Willis, Paxon Lukens, Noah Pisciotta, Isla Hatfield, Charlie Willis, Lyndsee Wood, Amy Hatfield, Tye Wood and Dan Wood. Mrs. Willis’ family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff of Regency Southern Care Hospice and Linda Gray’s staff for the care of their mother and the nurses and doctors of Tift Regional Medical Center for their exceptional care. Flowers will be accepted or memorial gifts may be made to your favorite charity.
