Don Marshall Melton, age 74, of Fitzgerald, died Saturday July 21st 2018. Memorial services will be held at a later date. Mr. Marshall was born on October 8, 1943 in Fitzgerald Georgia, to the late A.B. and Edna Mobley Melton.

After graduating high school he served 14 years in the United States Marine Corp. , serving during Vietnam. He also received a welding degree from Vo-Tech.

Mr. Melton enjoyed fishing, hunting, and raising cows and goats on his mini farm. He was a member of Sturgeon Creek Primitive Baptist Church. He is survived by his brother, Jack Melton and Gail of Fitzgerald, two nieces: Leanne Wilson and Sean, and Lauren Terry and Daniel, grandnephews: Sam Wilson, Jace Terry, Luke Terry, and Jance Terry, grandnieces: Caroline Wilson and Katie Wilson.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Jimbo Melton.
