She was born on June 16, 1925 to Benito Gonzalez and Maria Ignacia Garza in Pharr, TX. Ms. Elida is preceded in death by her husband Alfredo Garcia, daughters Gilda Garcia and Mary Isabelle Cline; son Alfredo Garcia Jr..

She is survived by her loving family which includes her daughters Olivia Martinez (Joe), Margaret Alice Postel, Gilda Yvonne Canales (Jerry), Irene Garcia and Linda Susan Gonzales (Leoncio); sons George Albert Garcia, John Robert Garcia (Juanita), Onofre Baldemero Garcia, Joseph Arthur Garcia (Kathy), and James Edward Garcia. 54 Grandkids, 68 Great Grandkids, and 12 Great Great Grandkids. Visitation will be held Thursday, April 19, 2018, 4:00 pm – 9:00 pm at Felix H. Morales Funeral Home, Houston, Texas with a Rosary beginning at 7:00 pm.

A Mass will be held on Friday, April 20, 2018, 9:00 – 10:00am at St. Joseph-St. Stephen Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery located on 3502 N. Main St. Houston TX 77009. All services are under the care of Morales Funeral Home.
